There is a kind of heroism that doesn't make headlines. Heroism that lives in a teacher staying late for a struggling student, in a young woman building something from nothing, in a grandfather who kept his family together through years of quiet hardship. These are the heroes among us, and for too long, their stories went untold.
HEROES JORDAN began with a simple belief: every story has the potential to inspire positive change. Not just the stories of the celebrated or the famous, but the stories of everyday Jordanians, from Aqaba to Irbid, from university halls to refugee camps. Stories of people whose journeys of resilience, compassion, and triumph deserve to be heard.

the impact, in numbers

the people who made it possible
The campaign was made possible by a remarkable community of partners who believed in what stories can do. The Abdulhameed Shoman Foundation provided 12,000 JOD in prizes, not as an award for achievement alone, but as a recognition that every voice lifted is a gift to us all.

Over 60 partners, from government institutions and cultural bodies to community organizations and private sector supporters, joined the mission. Each one played a vital role in amplifying the campaign's reach and ensuring that no governorate, no community, no voice was left out.

“Thank you very much for this wonderful initiative that highlights our heroes in Jordan! Our experience with the participation was very special, as it was nice to see 5 students with disabilities writing about the heroes in their lives, especially since this was their first time expressing themselves.” Falasteen Awad - Project Manager at Orient Spirit Development
the winners
Thirty winners were celebrated across five categories. In each, 1 winner was chosen by public vote and 5 by our jury of expert judges, ensuring that both the voice of the community and the depth of expertise shaped the outcome.

“I’m so grateful for the incredible experience I had with heroes Jordan! The miswada team went above and beyond to ensure everything was perfect, and their attention to detail made all the difference.I’m absolutely thrilled to have gone through this experience and would highly recommend it to anyone and everyone.” Hala Khashashneh, fifth place winner, 10-12 grade category
The stories that emerged were as varied as Jordan itself: a swimmer who overcame a congenital heart defect and underwent surgery to become a national champion, a boy who memorized 25 parts of the Quran while navigating visual impairment, and a mother who found her greatest inspiration in her son's unbreakable spirit despite battling cancer. What united every winning entry was not the subject, but the sincerity: stories written from the heart, about the people and moments that shape us.
our jury
Twenty-nine judges: writers, educators, journalists, and cultural figures from across Jordan's governorates, evaluated submissions across three structured phases. Each judge was assigned a specific category and worked independently, scoring entries on originality, storytelling quality, and overall impact.

“Being a jury member and partner for Heroes Jordan has been an inspiring experience. Witnessing the innovation, talent, and dedication of participants reaffirmed my belief in Jordan’s potential. It was an honour to support and celebrate these young change makers.” Rawan Sabri - Regional marketing Manager, THE Group
